Special Weather Statement issued April 23 at 11:23AM EDT by NWS Tallahassee FL At 1123 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 8 miles southeast of Rhine to near Newton.
Movement was east at 40 mph.

Pea size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Newton, Tifton, Albany, Putney, Ashburn, Ocilla, Fitzgerald, Sylvester, Enigma, Omega, Norman Park, Baconton, Lenox, Poulan, Doerun, Ty Ty, Alapaha, Phillipsburg, Mystic and Unionville. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
